Question:
"I was sent into surgical menopause at age 30 (4 years ago). Now I have a lot of difficulty losing weight.
What are some tips that can help me with my weight loss goals?"
our Health Coach Answer:
You don't mention whether you are taking hormone replacement therapy and, if you are, what type of HRT you are using. Hormones may be necessary for the next few years for you to feel your best. Weight loss depends on proper metabolism and testosterone can help you do that. I would avoid excess progesterone if you can because of the risk for weight gain.
In addition to the above, be sure to get regular exercise, ideally in ways that combine aerobics with strength training, and eat a healthy diet. I recommend the Mediterranean diet because of the many important health benefits it has been proven to provide.
